NGL, I struggled staying awake watching the Evangelion series. I don’t know, man, I consider myself a cultured person, but I just couldn’t wrap my head around all the abstract storytelling (and don’t get me started on the never-ending cricket sounds!) So what did I do? I simply fast forward to the interesting parts only—I’m talking about the parts where they show the EVAs la! (Not what you think???? )
Yes! The EVAs, on the other hand, are pretty nicely done. At first glance, they look like some ugly mofos. But they actually grew on me. So much so, when I discovered this one produced by BLOKEES, I told myself I had to bring some in to add to my listing.
This one’s a hybrid between a plastic model kit and building blocks. The inner frame is made from block-like parts, while the outer armor uses traditional runners. Quite a refreshing approach—and honestly, that’s what BLOKEES is good at: mixing it up.
So if you are a fan of Evangelion, Lego and Plamo, this serves as a 3-in-1 for you!
Heads up: Unit 02 (Asuka not included, sorry hor) is coming in May/June 2025. So if you’re thinking of collecting them all, best to start with Unit 01 now!
