HEMOXIAN — About the name, and how to pronounce

Hemoxian (pronounced “Her More See-Anne”) is a word play of a technical term 合模线 (also pronounced “Her More See-Anne”) which in English, is known as “parting line”, aka seam line or mold line, which is that tiny seam where two halves of a mold meet. Every builder has seen it. Most people would ignore it. The OCD, I mean, the pros would see it like an eye sore and sand it away.

If the company had used the name 合模线 (parting line), it would simply sound like a business related to plastics — which already makes sense.

But they didn’t.

They swapped the first character 合 for 和, forming the name: 和模线, and gave it a whole new meaning.

So, what’s in the name

I got the following explanation from the company profile, which they shared with me when I applied to be their reseller.

For those who can ready Chinese

Here’s what each character means.

“和”

(pronounced “Her” with a silent R)

Definition:
Harmony — not “everyone must be the same,” but living with differences comfortably.

Meaning:
“和” reflects a younger, more open generation.

Yes, they grew up influenced by overseas toy culture, but they don’t want to be shaped blindly by it.

In a fast, noisy market full of shortcuts, Hemoxian stays steady:

honoring traditional Chinese craftsmanship, while learning good ideas and engineering from abroad.

They keep improving themselves, step by step.

They break boundaries, welcome new viewpoints, and aim to create model kits that Chinese makers can proudly present to the world.

“模”

(pronounced “More” with a silent R)

Definition:
“模” refers to model kits, molds, and also the idea of “patterns” or “ways” of creating.

Meaning:
It points to their core product — models —

but it also suggests that creativity should not stay in one box.

There are many ways to express an idea.

Plastic on its own has no emotion.

But once it’s melted, formed, and assembled into something meaningful, it becomes more than a toy.

From loose parts to a completed build, it becomes a carrier of emotions —

a small companion that gives comfort when the real world feels tiring.

“线”

(pronounced “See-Anne)

Definition:
A line — thin and simple, yet it can stretch endlessly.

Meaning:
If the real world and the ideal world feel far apart, Hemoxian hopes to be the link between them.

This “line” represents a path where builders can find belonging, a space to escape the noise and reconnect with themselves.

Just like how a parting line splits a mould into two mirrored halves, this “line” also opens a door into another world.

As you build, pose, and display the kit, every small change carries emotion.

Through happy moments or low moments, the kit stays with you.

Whenever you think of it, it’s there — steady and loyal.

The slogan

Hemoxian’s slogan is “把梦想拼进现实” which the company had translated to “Build your dreams into lives” — sounds a bit off to me.

If I may correct it, I would say: “Build your dreams into reality!”

Because in this hobby of plamo building, “dreams” aren’t just ideas in your head — some people literally make a living through building plamos, and others find a little piece of the world they want to live in, one build at a time.

Conclusion

As conclusion, this is what I think about Hemoxian:

If a company can put so much thought into just their name, you can imagine how much thought they put into their products.

That’s one of the reasons I chose to carry Hemoxian products.
