Sheik Mainland revisits one of the earlier releases in the Ultra Action Trooper (UAT) series with Zabol Enhanced, an upgraded version of the original 1/144 Zabol.
Rather than replacing the original design, Zabol Enhanced builds upon it with two additional newly designed runners, bringing the total to 12 runners. These introduce new chest armour, an expanded backpack, a long-range rifle, new leg thrusters and redesigned side skirt armour. The elbow joints have also been redesigned for improved articulation.
The most noticeable addition to the upper body is an auxiliary camera unit on the left chest, connected by a power cable to the new expanded backpack.
The backpack itself receives a substantial upgrade, now featuring four thruster nozzles for increased mobility. The new long-range rifle can be mounted to the side of the backpack when not in use, while a square mounting point in the centre allows a shield to be attached.
The rifle mounting point is also compatible with the Franz-α dedicated rifle, giving builders additional loadout options.
The lower body receives new calf thrusters, complete with moulded internal details, while newly designed side skirt armour features a vent-like appearance without interfering with articulation.
Another important improvement is found at the elbows. The original joint has been replaced with a dual-pivot design, providing a greater bending range and more posing possibilities.
The rest of Zabol’s articulation remains largely unchanged. Combined with the POK joint material used throughout the kit, Zabol Enhanced retains the stable yet highly poseable construction of the original.
Because the upgraded components are provided as additional runners rather than replacements, the parts required to build the original Zabol configuration are still included.
Builders can therefore choose between assembling Zabol Custom with its new equipment or recreating the original Zabol configuration.
