Ok, that’s just a fancy way of saying that I’ll be joining pop-up markets from mall to mall around the island in the coming months — starting with Jurong Point, from 11 to 17 May 2026. Why am I doing this? First of all, deltabase is going to remain as an online-only store for as […]

Finally wrapped up my very first pop-up adventure after seven days 😄

Honestly, this turned out even better than I expected.

Many of you who follow me on social media showed up to support. Some came because they happened to see my posts. But what amazed me the most were the ...random shoppers who simply walked past, got attracted by the display, stopped to check things out... and eventually walked away with something.

Even though it was only a short stint, I gathered a lot of valuable insights:

1. Pop-up stalls work.
2. Letting people touch and play with the display works.
3. Sheik Mainland products really do sell themselves once people experience them.

One of the biggest things I learned is this:

People are naturally hesitant to touch displays. But the moment I told them:
"Go ahead, pick it up."

...almost every single person reacted to the articulation 😄

That buttery smooth POK articulation genuinely surprised people.

Overall, I would say this has been a pretty successful deployment.

I’m already thinking about the next one... but first, let me catch up on some proper sleep 😴

Once again, thank you to everyone who came by to support, and to all the new followers and customers — I truly hope you don’t regret the decision 🙂

Lots of love,
Dean from deltabase

Didn’t realize someone also changed the pose of the Zabol 😄

This is honestly becoming one of the most enjoyable parts of doing the popup for me — coming back and getting surprised by what people did with the display.

Every person poses them differently, and somehow each one... gives the kits a completely different personality 😍

A bunch of school kids stopped by earlier, played around with the display for awhile, then left the Buck in this pose before walking away 😄

I don’t know why, but somehow this pose perfectly captures Buck’s entire personality.

The Buck may not be the most sophisticated kit among all Sheik Mainland releases, but it holds a very special meaning.

It is the very first kit that uses POK for the joints.

That’s right — the folks behind Sheik Mainland had no idea if POK would actually take off, so Buck was ...created as a proof of concept while keeping the cost and risk under control. Hence the simpler design.

I mean, if you’re sending people to space for the first time, the look and color scheme would probably be your least concern 😄

Nevertheless, it turned out to be a successful experiment that proved POK is the way moving forward.

So having a Buck in your collection is more than just owning another kit.

It’s your way of saying:
“I was there when the revolution started.”

Today is the last day of me having pop-up stall at Jurong Point. If you happen to be in the west, come by and feel the Sheik Mainland products I have on display. Yes you can play with them! Can even buy them as I have most ready in stock on site.

I'm in Jurong Point near mamma mia! ...(#01-48)

All the Tarantulas have officially been given out 😄

Didn’t expect them to disappear this quickly.

Good news is, I’ll still be at Jurong Point through the weekend.

And guess what I’ll be giving away next for every kit purchased? 👀
