The Buck 2 is the latest addition to Sheik Mainland’s Hyper-Mobility Trooper series, representing a comprehensive upgrade of the original mass-production Buck.
While it carries the Buck name, the Buck 2 is far more than a simple equipment upgrade. The original Buck’s bulky, muscular mono-eye design has been completely reworked into a sharper and more modern machine, with its distinctive visor-style head giving the Buck 2 an entirely new identity.
Visually, very little of the original Buck remains — the arms are about the only immediately recognisable connection between the two designs. Underneath, however, both machines share the same POK joint runner.
The Buck 2 is available in two colour schemes: the classic blue, white and yellow, and a darker black, grey and red combination. The latter gives the machine an almost ancient-warrior appearance, particularly when posed with its physical sword.
Part separation has also improved considerably compared with the original Buck. Details such as the shoulder armour and leg vents are separately moulded, while clear parts are used for the head visor, cockpit and lower torso, giving the straight build a much more complete appearance without additional painting.
A small design feature from the original Buck also makes a return. Light entering from the rear of the head can pass through towards the forehead section, although the main visor itself does not share this light-transmitting effect.
Combined with the broad visor design, it gives the Buck 2 a very different character from its mono-eye predecessor.
The shoulder thrusters also feature nested, separately moulded parts, adding greater depth and detail to the vents.
The Buck 2 continues to use POK material for its joints, providing the smooth articulation and durability found in recent Sheik Mainland kits.
Both the neck and waist use double ball joints to provide a wide range of movement. The waist retains the angled articulation design seen in previous Hyper-Mobility Trooper kits, allowing the torso to lean and shift sideways for more dynamic poses. The neck movement, however, is somewhat more restricted by the new head design.
The arms can raise sideways to approximately 90 degrees, while the elbows bend beyond 120 degrees. The shoulder joints can also swing forward and backward by approximately 45 degrees.
The knees use a double-jointed design, while the hips allow the legs to raise approximately level with the torso. Together with around 75 degrees of foot-to-ground contact, the Buck 2 can comfortably achieve poses such as kneeling on one knee.
Expansion points on the Buck 2 are concentrated mainly around the upper body, with connection ports located on the forearms, side skirts, rear skirts and backpack. The backpack uses Sheik Mainland’s standard dual-port connection.
Additional 3 mm ports are hidden beneath covers on both sides of the calves. They are unused in the standard configuration, leaving open the possibility of additional equipment or future expansion options.

Dedicated mounting adapters are included, allowing the weapons to be stored on the skirt armour when not in use.
The shield features improved colour separation, while its rear mounting mechanism can slide forward and backward to adjust its position and angle.
There is also an interesting connection to another machine in the UAT universe: the Buck 2’s rifle is actually a shortened version of the rifle used by Yunque, now modified with a removable and interchangeable magazine.
