Ok, that’s just a fancy way of saying that I’ll be joining pop-up markets from mall to mall around the island in the coming months — starting with Jurong Point, from 11 to 17 May 2026.
Why am I doing this?
First of all, deltabase is going to remain as an online-only store for as long as it makes sense. Mostly because I’m not a fan of funding some landlord’s next bungalow and supercar. Also because I didn’t work this hard half my life just so I can grow old being stuck in a shop from 10 to 10, not to mention giving up my weekends and public holidays.
But being an online-only store comes with its own challenges, especially when I’m not selling products people are already familiar with. Like it or not, the majority of consumers still want to see and touch things before they buy.
For that reason, I’ve been thinking very hard about how I can solve that problem — having a physical presence without committing to hefty rental.
Then one day, while visiting a mall, I saw a row of pop-up stalls and thought to myself:
“Eh… I can do that too what.”
And thus began the adventure of me trying to figure out how to rent a pop-up stall 😅
First, I needed to find an organizer, which thankfully happened through a recommendation from one of the stall participants. Then I started contacting various organizers and guess what?
The real fun was getting them to respond.
No joke, everyone talks about how times are hard, so you would think people would reply to inquiries faster than usual. But no. Some organizers simply never responded, while others took days.
Eventually I managed to get hold of a few, then came the next step — exploring venues. I shortlisted a couple fairly quickly because I already had some places in mind.
And then came the next drama.
After booking a venue, the organizer cancelled it shortly after. Not once, but twice 😅 Likely due to poor take-up rate… or simply incompetent organizers.
After weeks of “shopping around”, just when I was about to give up, one organizer came back with an offer for a location I was more than happy to take — Jurong Point!
Not only is it a high footfall mall, it’s also near where I live in the west.
So yes, I’ll be at Jurong Point from 11 to 17 May 2026.
For this deployment, I’ll be showcasing only Sheik Mainland products. And for every kit purchased, I’ll be giving away a Tarantula mini kit.
That’s right:
every kit, not every transaction 😄
Meaning if in one transaction you buy:
